GABRIEL KREUTHER
Opening it’s doors in 2015, Gabriel Kreuther is an elegant oasis across the street from Bryant Park and just east of the most heavily foot trafficked neighborhood in the city, Time’s Square. Flanked by office buildings as far as the eye can see, the restaurant is the perfect place for an ostentatious business lunch by day and a fancy date night out. From the white outlined graphic crane patterned wallpapered wall in the otherwise glass boxed entryway to the towering salvaged wooden beams that divide the restaurant's open floor plan into more intimate sections each with their own unique touches, the modern meets boutique French cabin decor is breathtaking.
Equally as beautiful are the dishes that Alsatian Executive Chef Gabriel Kreuther has so meticulously crafted. They are an experience to be had. From the radial striated plate choice paired with the way that the server pulls off a glass showcase top allowing a cloud of smoke to escape the dish revealing the Sturgeon & Sauerkraut Tart which is a golden tart topped with a dollop of caviar—it’s quite the showstopper. Whether it’s enveloped in smoke, foam or powdered sugar, each dish is a beautiful flavor journey that I for one would volunteer to go back for any day of the week.
