TURKEY TACO PIZZA

KIDS LOVE TACO PIZZA shhhhh, so do adults.

It was a Tuesday. There was ground turkey taking up space in my freezer. This is what happened next. What I loved about this dish is that my kids absolutely loved it. They kept asking for more. On my end, it was an easy toss-together meal that I’m now putting on my weekly dinner menu options.

Instructions

TO MAKE YOUR TURKEY
  1. In your small mixing bowl mix your garlic powder, onion powder, chili, cumin, paprika, and salt in your small mixing bowl. Set aside.
  2. Over medium-high heat, heat your pan (do NOT add oil or butter). Add your ground turkey. Use your wooden spoon to break up your turkey until you have a crumble. Cook until there isn't any pink left on your turkey—about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle your spice mixture over your turkey. Use your spoon to mix it all together so that your turkey is fully coated in the spices.
  4. Add your water. Reduce your heat to a simmer. Cook until most of your water is absorbed—about 8 minutes. Stir occasionally. Remove from heat.
TO PREP YOUR AVOCADO
  1. In your medium mixing bowl, use the back of your fork to mash down your avocado until you have an even texture.
  2. Add your lime juice.
  3. Season to your taste with salt and pepper.
  4. Set aside.
TO MAKE YOUR TACO PIZZA
  1. Move your oven rack to the middle of your oven. Pre-heat your broiler on high.
  2. Lay 2 tortillas on your baking sheet.
  3. Spread your avocado mixture evenly over both tortillas.
  4. Heavily sprinkle your ground turkey meat over your avocado until it's almost completely covered.
  5. Heavily cover your turkey with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  6. Lightly sprinkle salt over your cheese.
  7. Broil until your mozzarella cheese has golden brown spots—about 5 minutes but varies based on the heat of your broiler. I recommend checking after the first 2 minutes and then every minute after that.
  8. Cut like a pizza.
  9. Eat. Enjoy.
